Young SYoung Scholar Award | This award is given to members under the age of 40 who have published excellent papers over several years and made significant academic contributions. Eligible candidates are those who have conducted their research in Korea and have resided in the country for at least one year.

Young Innovator Award | This award is given to members under the age of 40 who have made significant contributions to the development or improvement of new technologies in metallurgy and materials. The award is based on research conducted in Korea, and members who have resided in Korea for at least one year are eligible. Prize: 1,000,000 KRW |
Outstanding Paper Award | This award is given for papers published in the "Journal of the Korean Institute of Metals and Materials," "METALS AND MATERIALS International (MMI)," and "Electronic Materials Letters (EML)" over the past two years. It is divided into two sections: Section 1: Awarded to the author of the most academically outstanding paper. Section 2: Awarded to the authors whose papers have been cited the most in other SCI journals in the past two years (1st, 2nd, and 3rd places). International Scholar Award | This award promotes young member activities and strengthens collaboration between TMS and KIM. This collaborative exchange program offers selected young members the opportunity to present papers at international sessions. The KIM-selected awardee will be awarded at the TMS Annual Meeting (typically in March), and the TMS-selected awardee will be awarded at the KIM Fall Conference (typically in October). Award Timing: Selected at each KIM spring conference and presented at the following year's TMS spring conference. Prize: 5,000,000 KRW (for airfare, transportation, accommodation, and meals). |

Yoon Dong Seok served as the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th President of the Korean Institute of Metals and Materials (from 1962 to 1966) and played a pivotal role in the development of the Society.
