Scope of the conference
The Conference is focused, broadly, on the use of Crystallographic Texture in Science and engineering. Such applications may incolce traditional physical/mechanical metallurgy to continuum mechanics, from earth sciences to polymers; from advanced electro-ceramics to auto-body steel......the list can indeed be exhausteve!
participants are expected to cut across different disciplines - working under the common theme. This is a conference for experts and also for beginners.

Following are the generalized theme areas (both experimental research and modeling) for Icotom 16:
¥°) Process Related: This theme area includes the following aspects of crystallo graphic Texture
Developments in Metallic Materials: Texture Developmentsthrough Plastic Deformation, Recrystallization
and Grain growth, Phase Transformation, Solidification, Vapor-Solid transformation.
¥±) Microstructural Engineering: This is structure-property correlation - irrespective of the of materials.
¥²) Technique Related: Involving novel developments in measurement techniques, analytical tools and
mathematical or numerical methods and software for texture analysis.
¥³) Earth Science: Incolcing geological Materials.
¥´) Ceramics: Both Structural and functional ceramics.
¥µ) Polymers: Textures in polymers - both crystallographic and morphological texture.
